When I found this out I was not happy. I've seen her acting abilities before and they are less than impressive. Plus, Anne was notoriously unattractive. I remember hearing that Henry was enraged when he found she was not as attractive as her portrait. :o)
I'd prefer an actress who speaks German, it would add authenticity to the role.
Actually Anne of Cleves was an attractive young woman when she arrived in England. In fact, it's noted when she appeared in the public. Henry VIII just didn't like her and no one could gainsay his word.
It's possible he was already interested in Katherine Howard and used Anne's supposed ugliness as an excuse to get rid of her.
Cinderella, I think it is indeed possible that he was already interested in Katherine Howard and would use any excuse to get rid of Anne.
