Baby steps toward a new blog

Well, as you can see, I have a domain registered and I'm getting started with WordPress. I'm beginning to like it, but it's been a struggle to figure everything out. It was especially difficult to choose the theme because nothing was quite what I wanted. What I settled on* isn't very fancy, but so far it actually works so I'm sticking with it. (I do miss my beautiful red Typepad template, however!)

This blog doesn't seem to have permalinks so I'll have to tackle that next. I hope to resume real blogging soon. Thank you for bearing with me, and if you have any comments on the new blog, or any WordPress advice to share, I'd be happy to hear it!

*Note: When I first posted this, the blog was plain white with a purple header and not much else. Hopefully you'll agree that it looks better now.

  1. Congratulations on the domain name!!! Looking good. You'll make this bigger and better than the Typepad blog. They'll be sorry you switched! 😉

  2. I liked the beautiful red template in the old blog too… Can't you have something red on this one as well?

Are you still going to post on the old one, Cinderella? Or should I update my blogroll already?

  3. Yes, you can go ahead and update it, and thank you. If I return to Typepad (unlikely but possible, if they ever get things straightened out), I'll try to point my new domain name to that blog.

And as you suggest, I will try out a red color scheme for this blog because I don't really like what I have right now. I'd like to have three columns again, too, but it's hard to find templates like that for WordPress. It's going to take me a while to sort this out. I'm rushing to finish up the Royal News page so I can work on this some more today!

You don't have to give your real name. If you don't have your own website, leave the "Website" field blank.
